Summer Electronic Benefits Transfer
Summer 2024 Summer Electronic Benefits Transfer (SEBT) is here! SEBT is a benefit provided to increase access to nutritious meals during the summer months for eligible students! During the academic year, eligible students receive meals at school through programs like the National School Lunch Program. However, when schools are closed for the summer, these students may face challenges in accessing nutritious meals. The SEBT program seeks to bridge this gap by providing food assistance, helping ensure that students have access to sufficient and healthy meals during the summer break. If your student has received SNAP, KTAP, and/or Kinship Care for at least one month since July 1st , 2023, there is no need to apply for SEBT – they are automatically approved! If they have not received at least one of the above benefits, you need to start your Summer Electronic Benefits Transfer (SEBT) application - opening June 22, 2024!
How Do I Apply?
SEBT benefit applications can be completed online or you can contact DCBS at 855-306-8959 with questions.
The online Application will be available at https://www.chfs.ky.gov/agencies/dcbs/dfs/Pages/SEBT.aspx
or can be accessed through https://kynect.ky.gov/benefits/s/?language=en_US starting June 22nd, 2024.

Food Service
PISD is established as a CEP school district. All PISD students can eat a FREE breakfast and lunch daily. Students are allowed to get “extras” but are required to pay for any extra items.
PISD guardians can now add funds to and/or pay food service debts within Parent Portal by choosing the Food Service option. Food service fees and credit can be added using a credit card or bank card. There is no fee to use a bank card. There is a minimal fee to use a credit card.
PES students can use Food Service fund credit to purchase snacks during break.
Each household must complete Meal Benefit within IC Parent Portal each year and/or as household circumstances may change.

- Select choices
